Your hospital delivers tremendous value to the health of your community. Turn this value into a marketing tool by telling your Community Benefit story in a compelling, creative way. An effective Community Benefit Report can help you:

  • Demonstrate and showcase what your health organization does to improve your community’s health
  • Validate public trust in your organization
  • Quantify charity care and the impact of other activities designed to enhance the health of your  community’s health
  • If relevant, help support your tax-exempt status

Here are just a few examples of how Krames StayWell has partnered with clients to produce a Community Benefit report:

Improving the general health of the community is a key mission for Tanner Health System. By including their annual “Report to Our Community” in the December issue of Healthy Living, Tanner was able to make sure community members got the message while saving on postage costs.

The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) uses the community benefit report as a key component to demonstrate how funds and grants received from the federal government and state legislature are being used effectively, and to show the hospital’s positive impact on the community from both an economic and a health status perspective.

Holy Redeemer Health System’s Foundation strategically inserted its “A Report to the Community 2009” in its quarterly custom development publication, Development Directions, since this unique publication was already communicating with donors, friends, foundations, and corporate partners.  The report was a way to thank donors who have made financial and in-kind donations to support the organization’s programs.

The Staten Island University Hospital, a member of the North Shore–Long Island Jewish (NSLIJ) Health System, considers its community benefit report an integral part of its overall marketing communications plan, with the simple goal of telling the hospital story to the community. More than 50,000 copies of its 2009 report will be distributed to the community as a stand-alone piece. The report will also be available in PDF format on the hospital website and Intranet, the NSLIJ corporate website, and Facebook.
